On the weekend of September 5th 1909 a group of young women approached Lord Baden Powell whilst he was at a Scout Jamboree at Crystal Palace and asked him for something for young women, 100 years on the Guiding movement is still going strong and from the 5th Sept 2009 until the 20th Oct 2010 we will be celebrating this great achievement.

We will have Rainbows Going Wild, Brownies Taking Over, Great Guide Getaways and Ultimate Adventures for the senior section.

Watch out for details of other events, as they are planned in your own districts and Divisions.

As well as what we are doing here in Leicestershire, Girlguiding UK and Midlands region will be organising events and here on the website we will be keeping you up to date with these.

As well as celebrating, we want to hear your stories collect your memories so that in 100 years time members of the organisation are able to say look what they did back in 2010.
